Father John Misty is the nom-de-plume of Josh Tillman, who has been releasing solo albums since 2003 and who left Seattle's Fleet Foxes after playing drums from 2008-2011.
Fear Fun is Josh Tillman’s first album where he performed under the name Father John Misty and it is a rollicking good time. There are honky-tonk songs, lounge singer-style songs, rock ‘n roll songs; the album runs a gamut of genres.
Father John Misty and Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit are teaming up for a summer co-headline tour. Both bands will be playing about 60 minute sets each night, and the shows will be opened by Jade Bird (June 6th - June 25th) and Erin Rae (June 27th - June 29th).

Fear Fun is the first studio album released by American folk musician Josh Tillman under his pseudonym Father John Misty. It was released on April 30, 2012, in the UK and Europe on Bella Union, and in the rest of the world on May 1, 2012, on Sub Pop Produced by both Tillman and Jonathan Wilson, the album was released following Tillman's departure from Fleet Foxes.
Tillman released the album Fear Fun under his new moniker Father John Misty on May 1, 2012. A couple of months prior to the release of the album a video was released for the song "Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings" starring Parks and Recreation ' s Aubrey Plaza.The album was a dramatic departure from any of Tillman's prior releases.
Father John Misty was born Joshua Tillman to an evangelical Christian family in Rockville, Maryland. Despite being a “pretty aimless kid”, in his words, from a young age Tillman was taken with the idea of being a performer.
