Originally released on vinyl in 1985, this captures Dawkins with a regular working band blasting through a set of his original tunes. The set has been remixed, putting some much-needed life into Dawkins' flabby guitar sound but still unable to get his vocals out far enough to compete with his guitar.
FEEL THE BLUES, certainly, does not give that ad-lib impression. I had not heard of this Jimmy Dawkins band before this 1985 record. The keyboard 'master' on FEEL THE BLUES is Professor Eddie Lusk and it is not a coincidence on more than one occasion Dawkins says aloud "OK Professor do your thing!" and an impressive organ solo follows.
